Hey Guys!! My name is Jacey but everyone knows me by BBQ Bugsy. I began my BBQ journey at 9 cooking with some great friends at Mississippi Meat Mafia. I am passionate about being a BBQ competitor and learning all I can about this highly competitive food sport. I am currently a junior member of Ole Booger Bears BBQ. I am also a brand ambassador for The Good Charcoal Company (www.thegoodcharcoal.com) and help my team represent Heath Riles BBQ seasonings (heathrilesbbq.com).

My Medical Journey
In December of 2019 I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and required 3 major brain surgeries to provide relief from near constant migraine headaches and other medical issues I had suffered with since birth. During my surgeries they removed my C1 & C2 vertebrae along with fusion of the area and insertion of rod and pins for support of area. My neurologist, Dr Paul Klimo along with awesome staff at Methodist Le Bonhuer Hospital were instrumental in my recovery. I still have on going medical care and follow up, recently I had to have a tonsillectomy that was extremely hazardous due my neck fusion, along with a thyroid condition that is ongoing. Since my surgeries I have found a passion for everything pertaining to BBQ cooking. I am so thankful for my support system encouraging me along the way.
